SEEN Issue Two Magazine Launch

Join the SEEN team and contributors to Issue Two for an evening of conversations, celebrations and music

Thursday 27 March 2025
6–9pm
Aviva Studios

Launch of SEEN Issue Two with a focus on decolonising electronic music.

Issue Two writers Amelia Fearon, Jessica Rogers, Sashwati Mira Sengupta and Iyunoluwanimi Yemi-Shodimu will join us for an evening of conversations and celebrations with a DJ set from Taxi Cab Industries. Complimentary food will be served at the time of Iftar.

The magazine also features AFRODEUTSCHE, photography from Alina Akbar, writing from Dhruva Balram, Stephanie Ewurama (aka SCAPA), Jad Ghazali and Dr Zakiya Mckenzie.

Subjects explored in the issue include a project linking Mancunian and Palestinian artists, the ethics of sampling and a profile of a reggae orchestra led by a visually impaired Jamaican. Longreads include a review of a Ghanaian festival, a thinkpiece on solidarity and protest sounds in South Asia and the diaspora and an article on the role of social media platforms in framing beauty standards. A review of our panel at WOMEX 2024 is featured too.

No ticket required for launch and talks at 7:30pm. Please join us.
