From Metz ‘n’ Trix to Manara, Asian Dub Foundation to UK Apache, M.I.A to Joy Crookes, South Asian diaspora impacts on the UK music scene and wider culture are immeasurable. For a day-long takeover of Manchester Museum on Saturday 1st July, SEEN Magazine will shine a light on this heritage and celebrate the sounds of global majority and South Asian diaspora artists making waves today.

Building on themes featured in the Manchester Museum’s ground-breaking new South Asia Gallery and SEEN’s first issue, the event will feature:

Sonics • DJ sets from Manara, A.G, Pandit G, Zaleel and SHIMRISE, hosted by Chandé
Stories • a panel with Alina Akbar, Saminah and Johnny Jay, chaired by journalist and DJ Tayyab Amin
Scenes • film screenings from Alina Akbar and Pranav Saji Krishnan
Plus a henna workshop from Huq That and a playlist from all featured artists.
